Dedication Blog to the Duchess of Cambridge

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to come join me again to connect. Learning how to blog, setting up a site is still a work in progress for myself. I am learning how to do everything as I go but enjoying the process.

As time goes on, I have really learned the true value of pushing oneself out of your comfort zone and trying something new. You can really surprise yourself with what you may learn but also surprise yourself with what you can do when you simply try, show up.

This is why I am dedicating today's blog theme to the Duchess of Cambridge. By now, most of us know the story of Kate (Catherine) Middleton marrying England's Prince William and becoming a member of the British Royal Family. Not only just a Royal family member but the future Queen of England. As well as the mother of the future King of England. Once a private citizen from the village of Bucklebury, Berkshire to now one of the most famous fashion icons in the world.

When growing up, my Grandmother would bring me magazines from England. The pages were full of pictures and stories on The Spice Girls, Take That and S Club 7. Also from those pages were pictures of Prince William's girlfriend, Kate Middleton. Right away I was drawn to her fashion sense, how she carried herself while photos of her being taken while watching a polo match or waiting for the city bus in London. A private citizen's personal life being splashed on the pages of these magazines due to her personal relationship with England's Future King.

Yet throughout these years, it was like she never took a misstep. Kate never publicly discussed her relationship, private family matters or seemed to leverage this new interest in her for monetary gain. From photos she exuded a quiet confidence and display of true authenticity. I was inspired. I made scrapbooks dedicated to Kate's fashion. I always felt like this was her way to display her authenticity through her clothes and hair. It was her way of showing a true piece of herself to the world. Some of us have words, some through music and Kate's was through the art of fashion.

Today I feel like you cannot go to a grocery store or scroll through social media without seeing a story or a photo of the Duchess of Cambridge. Her work as a Royal has highlighted many key areas of focus. Such as being a Royal Patron for the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club and National Portrait Gallery to name a few. As well as raising three small children, championing for the importance of mental health and highlighting her love of nature. Kate (Catherine) has continued throughout the years and to this day; showing her authentic self through her fashion choices for official and private outings. Kate is never one to just wear new fashion fads. Her choices remain personal and also highlight various designers and brands from around the world.

This blog is dedicated to Kate Middleton aka Catherine, The Duchess of Cambridge whom illustrates authenticity. Catherine helped show me that through fashion one could help express one's true self and expression.
